2. I get messages about PostureMinder being unable to connect to my webcam |
| |
If you encounter this problem and have plugged your webcam in via a USB hub, extension cable or laptop docking station, please try plugging the webcam directly into your laptop. Unfortunately most webcam manufacturers (including Logitech) do not support plugging in your webcam other than directly into your computer |

3. Application error on first start-up |
| |
Very occasionally PostureMinder will encounter an older model of webcam which does not work like most modern ones. We have developed a work-around but unfortunately cannot detect the problem until it happens. If you encounter an application error on first start-up, please close PostureMinder and run it again - it should try an alternative way to access your webcam which may solve the problem - otherwise please contact us with full details of what happens |

4. "Blue screen of death" while PostureMinder is running |
| |
Very occasionally a hardware conflict between your webcam and computer can cause your computer to crash. This is normally because your webcam drivers are not up-to-date. If you encounter this problem, please visit your webcam manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers. Alternatively you can use My Computer->Properties->Device Manager->Imaging Devices, right-click on your webcam and select Update driver |

5. Webcam software pops up when I'm running PostureMinder |
| |
Webcam manufacturer's like Logitech provide free software bundled with your webcam. This can cause annoying pop-up windows to appear whenever PostureMinder tries to access your webcam. Uninstalling the software (but leaving the device drivers) should solve this |

9. Recent versions (summer 2008) ask for calibration every start-up |

10. Webcam flickers/incorrect posture reminders |
| |
There may be a number of causes for receiving incorrect posture reminders, usually related to adverse lighting conditions. One issue to check is the camera settings - most modern webcams have an Anti-Flicker setting. If, when viewing the webcam output in the calibration window, or in other software, you notice flickering behaviour, please check that this setting correctly reflects your location. Contact support@postureminder.co.uk if you require any help with this. |

11. Dell computers + Logitech webcam leads to Windows crashing or applications stopping working |
| |
There is a reported problem with the hardware inside some Dell computers being incompatible with older versions of Logitech Quickcam drivers. This problem appears to be related to older versions of drivers for the built-in microphone. To fix, right click on My Computer, select Properties->Hardware->Device Manager. Under Imaging devices right click on your webcam and select "Update driver..." Under Sound, video and game controllers locate the Logitech Microphone (Quickcam) and again update the driver. If this doesn't correct the problem, try going back into Device Manager and choose to disable the microphone. |

12. Installation problem: Error 1723 |
| |
If you encounter a pop-up error during installation saying something along the lines of: "Windows Installer Error 1723There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor," this is because your computer does not have an up-to-date copy of the Windows Installer package. Your disk should include the file WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe (usually in Components), please run this to update your version of Windows Installer, then try installing PostureMinder again. This is only an issue with old versions of PostureMinder |
